If you have been eyeing off AYANA Bali and wondering how to plan it properly, you are not alone. With four resorts, countless pools and restaurants, beaches, and experiences all in one place, it can feel like a lot to take in at first.

Whether you are planning to spend your entire Bali holiday at AYANA Bali, using it as your first few nights to ease into the trip, or saving it for your final nights to wind down before flying home, the way you plan your stay makes a big difference. After staying across every AYANA Bali resort and villa and returning more than ten times, we have learnt exactly how to make a stay here feel relaxed, easy, and very Australian-friendly.

AYANA Bali is a five-star, clifftop integrated resort in Jimbaran, spread across a 90-hectare property where AYANA Resort Bali, RIMBA by AYANA, AYANA Segara Bali, and AYANA Villas Bali all connect into one seamless holiday playground.

Below, we are sharing our tips to get the most out of a stay at AYANA Bali, no matter how long you are there.

Family Picnic in the Beach

When is the best time to visit AYANA Bali from Australia?

For Australians, the best time to visit AYANA Bali is during the dry season from April to October. These months bring warm days, lower humidity, and calmer seas, making them ideal for pool days, beach time, and sunset drinks across the resort.

June and July school holidays are extremely popular with Australian families, but keep in mind these months also overlap with Indonesia’s main end-of-school-year break, which means AYANA Bali can book out early. November to March is hotter and greener, with occasional tropical showers, fewer crowds, and you can often find better deals during these months.

Pro tip: If you are travelling during the June or July school holidays, book bucket-list experiences like Rock Bar, spa treatments, and special dining before you arrive. With Australian and Indonesian school holidays overlapping, these experiences fill up quickly.

How long should Australians stay at AYANA Bali?

Most Australians stay between three and seven nights at AYANA Bali.

Three to four nights works well if AYANA Bali is your first or final stop in Bali. Five nights is the sweet spot for settling in and experiencing the entire property properly. Seven nights is ideal if you plan to spend your entire holiday at AYANA Bali and truly slow down.

Because AYANA Bali functions as a complete destination, there is no pressure to leave unless you want to.

Where should Australians stay within the AYANA Bali?

The best place to stay at AYANA Bali depends on who you are travelling with. Regardless of which resort you choose, all guests enjoy full access to the entire AYANA Bali property, connected by a complimentary tram, with private buggy service for Villa guests.

• RIMBA by AYANA is playful, modern, and very popular with Aussie families. It is compact, stroller-friendly, and home to a swim-up bar that is always a hit with Australian guests.

• AYANA Resort Bali sits at the oceanfront heart of AYANA Bali, close to Rock Bar, Kubu Beach, SAKA Museum, and AYANA Farm. If you are looking for the best views on the property, you will find them here.

• AYANA Segara Bali offers a calmer, contemporary feel, with Segara Residences providing kitchens and extra space. It features a rooftop pool and bar, as well as a lower pool that transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces.

• AYANA Villas Bali delivers ultra-private clifftop stays with personal butler service and private pools. They are perfect for a romantic getaway or a private group stay with the utmost luxury.

Pools at AYANA: how Australians actually use them

Pools matter, and AYANA Bali has plenty. Knowing where to spend your time helps you make the most of your stay.

When travelling without kids, or while the kids are happily in Kids Club, the Ocean Beach Pool is a favourite. This pool is for guests aged 12 years and over and is perched on the cliff overlooking the ocean. At high tide, the waves literally splash up beside the pool.

When enjoying pool time with kids, we always head straight to the AYANA kids’ pool or the RIMBA Lower Pool, where the waterslides are a guaranteed hit and can easily fill an entire morning or afternoon. If you enjoy a lively pool atmosphere, RIMBA’s pools are especially popular with Aussies, particularly near the swim-up bar.

Because everything at AYANA Bali is fully connected, pool hopping is all part of the fun.

Make time for Kubu Beach

One thing we always recommend is setting aside at least a few hours to visit Kubu Beach. AYANA Bali offers private access to this stretch of sand and, in our opinion, it is one of the best beaches in all of Bali.

Getting down to the beach is part of the experience, with a glass elevator taking you down the cliff to turquoise water and soft sand below. Once you are there, the pace shifts completely.

While you are down there, grab a drink or a bite to eat at Kubu Beach Club and settle in. This is not a quick stop. It is the kind of place where time disappears and is well worth building into your AYANA Bali itinerary.

Food and dining at AYANA: whatever your craving, it is covered

With more than 30 dining venues across AYANA Bali, it is easy to eat incredibly well without leaving the resort. You will find a wide range of cuisines and dining styles, from casual to more elevated.

Some favourites we always return to include indulging in fresh seafood with sand between our toes at KISIK, a Japanese feast at Honzen that genuinely feels like stepping into Japan, Mediterranean flavours at Scusa, and hearty Mexican at UNIQUE Rooftop. Whatever your vibe or craving, you will find it somewhere across AYANA Bali.

How do Australians get to AYANA Bali?

Australians commonly fly with Jetstar, Virgin Australia, AirAsia, Batik Air, Qantas, Garuda Indonesia, or TransNusa, depending on which state you are flying out from. AYANA Bali is an easy 25 to 35 minute drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport.

If AYANA Bali is your first stop, we recommend booking a flight that arrives around lunchtime so you can settle in and be ready for your first sunset on the property.

The big Aussie concern: late-night flights home

Many flights back to Australia depart late at night, often around 10 or 11pm. Even though checkout is at midday, AYANA Bali makes it easy to enjoy your final day. Concierge can assist with luggage storage and access to resort facilities, so you can still enjoy one last swim, lunch, spa visit, or sunset before heading to the airport.
