Day 1 — At Sea

Set sail at golden hour

Afternoon

Gather in the AYANA lobby at 15:00 for the short transfer to the jetty, where Lako di'a boards between 15:30 and 16:00, with a brief safety talk before the lines come off. A welcome drink and afternoon tea follow as the boat sails for Kalong Island.

Evening

At dusk, thousands of flying foxes rise from the mangroves of Kalong Island and cross the sunset sky, watched from the deck. Dinner is served at 19:00, and the evening is yours: games, karaoke, or the open deck, as the boat cruises on toward Padar.

Day 2 — Padar Sunrise

First light above the islands

Morning

The wake-up call comes at 04:30, with coffee and a light breakfast before the tender ride ashore. The climb up Padar takes about two hours round trip, timed so you reach the ridge as first light spreads across the island's three bays. Back on board, a full breakfast is served while Lako di'a sails to Pink Beach for a morning in the water: snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboards, all equipment provided. Then Komodo Island, where a park ranger leads you on foot among the dragons, the largest lizards on earth.

Afternoon

Lunch is served on the return sail, and by 15:00 you are back at AYANA Komodo.

Please note that the itinerary is subject to change without prior notice due to factors that may affect the operational schedule of AYANA's boat.

Frequently Asked Questions

A few questions our guests usually ask first. Reach out anytime: our reservations team replies within a day.

When does Lako Di'a sail?
Shared departures run from April to October each year, following the Komodo sailing season. Specific 2026 dates are listed under Choose Your Voyage above.
How many guests are on a shared departure?
Shared sailings are kept to small group sizes across the boat's private-balcony cabins. You book your own cabin and share the voyage with other guests.
When is whale shark season in Saleh Bay?
TODO-copy: whale shark season and sighting expectations.
TODO-copy — awaiting final answer
What is the overnight crossing of the Flores Sea like?
TODO-copy: the overnight crossing — timing, conditions, what to expect on board.
TODO-copy — awaiting final answer
How long is a private charter?
Voyages are tailored to your party, typically running four to six nights. Both the length and the route are set to suit your group, and the longer they run, the further into the archipelago they reach.
Can we set our own route and pace on a charter?
Yes. You set the route and the daily pace. Anchor an extra hour at Pink Beach, or begin with a slow breakfast instead of a sunrise hike. The shared itinerary is a starting point only.
What is included?
Full-board meals, a welcome drink and free-flow non-alcoholic beverages, all scheduled water activities and guided experiences, round-trip airport transfers, and Komodo National Park entrance fees. A private charter adds exclusive use of the boat and crew, flexible meal times, and charter-only shore experiences.
Will I have phone signal or internet on board?
Lako Di'a carries Starlink Wi-Fi, so you can stay online through most of the voyage, including the stretches of the park where mobile signal drops out. Speeds vary with the weather and with how many guests are online at once.
Do I need to stay at AYANA Komodo before and after the cruise?
Yes. Guests stay one night at AYANA Komodo before departing on Lako Di'a, and one night after arriving back. Check in at the resort at 10:30 am and board the boat at 11:00 am; on your return, you disembark at the resort at 11:00 am.
Can children join the voyage?
Yes. Children under 4 sail free. Parents are responsible for their children at all times, and there is no babysitting on board, so plan for young children to stay with you through the day’s activities.
Is there a deposit or any paperwork before sailing?
A deposit of IDR 2,500,000 per cabin per night is taken at check-in, by credit card or cash, on top of full payment. Every guest signs a liability release before sailing, and travel insurance covering accidents and repatriation is recommended.
What happens if a shared departure's minimum cabins aren't met?
Lako Di'a requires a minimum of two cabins to set sail on a shared departure. You will be notified at least 30 days before your arrival date. If the minimum is not met, you can either reschedule or receive a full refund.
Which cabins are included on a charter?
All three cabin tiers are included in every charter: the upper-deck Master Suite, six Luxury Suites on the main deck, and two Deluxe Suites on the lower deck. Each cabin opens onto a private balcony over the water.
How do I book, and what are the payment terms?
Shared departures are available for direct booking through our website, with full payment in advance; rates are subject to government tax and service charges. Private charter is quote-based: reach out to our team to start planning, and we will tailor a proposal to your party.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations made 60 to 31 days before departure are charged 50% of the total voyage price. Cancellations made less than 30 days before departure are charged 100% of the total voyage price. For any other timing, please contact our reservations team.
