AYANA KOMODO
WAECICU-BEACH
Each room is built in the spirit of Flores: teak shaped by local hands, textiles woven the same way for generations, colors pulled straight from the landscape outside. Every room opens to a private balcony, salt always in the air. Some go further still, with a generous bathtub angled toward a four-million-year-old view, so ancient it's watched the rest of the island arrive.

EXPERIENCES
Anyone who's been knows there's a magical energy between this landscape and the people who walk it. On Padar's prehistoric peaks. In Pantai Merah's blushing sand. Among the dragons of Rinca and under the fruit bats that lift off Kalong at dusk, darkening the golden sky. Every UNESCO-listed wonder, one to two hours from our jetty.

DINING
One coastline feeding them all. KISIK grills reef fish and lobster over glowing coals, with sambal that climbs from mild heat to holy fire. HonZEN keeps the fire going with teppanyaki, cooked tableside. From UNIQUE Rooftop Bar, the savannahs turn gold to apricot right on schedule. And Naga Bar offers a nightcap, where the jetty gives way to the ocean.

CRUISES
Nine cabins. Eighteen guests. Sixteen crew who could find their way through this archipelago with their eyes closed. AYANA Lako Di'a is a 54-meter phinisi, hand-built in South Sulawesi by Konjo artisans, and her name means exactly what she delivers: good boat. From Waecicu Beach, she carries you into the park's deepest water, past dragons on land and mantas below it, to reef walls that drop so low, the ocean seems to have no floor at all. There are two ways to sail: Shared or Charter.

Five treatment rooms and an oceanfront yoga deck that catches the first light. Further out, a sunrise hike up Waecicu gives you a 360 degree view, sea on one side, ancient stone on the other. Warm basalt from Inielika does the rest, patient and slow, the way the best things at AYANA tend to be.

CONSERVATION
Since 2018, our Marine Discovery Center has been growing a reef back to life off the jetty: 525 square meters of coral, transplanted by hand. 120 fish species have returned, drawn back to a habitat we helped rebuild. Best seen from the jetty at low tide, when the water runs clear enough to show the work. Or plant coral with our marine biologist, and leave something of yours behind in the Flores Sea.
